A drop of the sea, beloved

Helen Miriam Koskinen, born March 14th, 1922, was a daughter of Finnish immigrants and a sister to 9 siblings. A mother of 5 and a wife to a chiropractor and business owner, she loved her family and her life and found joy in taking care of them and the business. The brains behind every Turino operation, she kept things moving flawlessly while also making sure the children were fed and happy, and never missed an opportunity to crack a joke while she was at it. She was a sassy spitfire to her last day who rarely sat still.

Miriam Events Company, established 2024, is named for her. As her granddaughter, Lydia spent her childhood summer days playing cards with her, cooking with her, and learning from her about the world. Even when Lydia was a child, her grandmother’s dedication to life and sharpness of wit never went unnoticed. Her dedication to her family and her business is admirable and is at the center of this company: without a strong foundation, no house will stay standing. Without a sturdy structure, no event will flow smoothly.
